Filter, sort and group the gallery

2 min read · Updated 10/20/2026

Above the photo grid you choose which part of the gallery you see and how it is arranged. This only affects your view and does not change the photos.

Filters

  • “All” shows every photo and video.
  • “My photos” appears as soon as you have uploaded something yourself in this browser.
  • “Photos” and “Videos” separate by file type.
  • “Highlights” is available from Spotlight, see Photo highlights.
  • “Hidden” is visible to everyone who may hide photos, as soon as there are hidden photos.
  • “Reported” is visible to event creators and co-admins while reports are open.

If the event has photo tasks, the task filter shows only the photos for one task. “Clear filter” shows everything again.

Sort

As the event creator or a co-admin, choose “Newest first” or “Oldest first” under “Sort”.

Grouping

The gallery can group photos under headings. On large screens, choose “Grouping” above the grid. On a phone it is in the menu: under “More Actions” for guests, under “More” for event creators. That is also where you set the “Tile size”.

  • “Automatic” is the default. Headings only appear once there are photos from at least two days. A celebration lasting up to 14 days is grouped as “Day 1”, “Day 2” and so on. For collections over a longer time, the days around the event stand on their own and older photos are grouped by month or year.
  • “By day” and “By month” fix one level, “No grouping” shows everything in one grid.

Your browser remembers the grouping and the tile size.

Default for your guests

As the event creator or a co-admin, set how the gallery starts for everyone under “Grouping for guests” in the gallery’s quick settings. Anyone who changes it on their own device keeps their choice.
