Honest comparison

Renting a photo booth usually costs 200 to 800 euros. For one evening.

EventDrop costs $49, and your guests take photos all night. Not just the ones currently queueing in front of the booth.

No credit card. Your guests need neither an app nor an account.

Honestly: $49 is $49. No struck-through fantasy price, no “today only, 70 percent off” routine.

A booth without a printer is cheaper, from around 150 euros. It arrives by post, you set it up yourself, and your guests get no photo in their hand. Once a printer is included, those vendors also start at 200 euros and up.

The “Photo booth rental” column describes the usual scope of classic photo-booth rental; individual vendors differ. The price range comes from bvents.de (updated 15 August 2026) and photobooth.at, both read on 29 August 2026: self-assembly boxes shipped to you from around 150 euros, standard packages with a printer 200 to 450 euros, full service with setup and staffing 450 to 800 euros. Always compare the actual quote before you book.

The EventDrop column describes the Premiere plan ($49), a single payment for one event. Smaller plans start at $9.

When you really do need a photo booth

If it matters to you that your guests take a printed photo home with them, rent a photo booth. EventDrop cannot do that, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

If what you want is every photo your 80 guests took, in your hands the next day, then a booth is the wrong tool. It only captures what happens in front of its lens. Most of it happens somewhere else.

How it works

Create the album

Takes under a minute, all you need is an email address.

QR code on the table

23 ready-made print designs on the paid plans, suited to weddings, birthdays and company parties. Print, place, done.

Guests scan and upload

No app, no login, no sign-up. Photos arrive at print quality, not at messenger quality.

You have everything

Available for a year on the Premiere plan: as a gallery, as a live wall during the party, and as a recap video afterwards.

The objections people actually raise

They install nothing and sign up nowhere. Point the camera at the QR code, upload, done. That is less effort than sending a photo over a messenger.

They are stored on servers in the EU; EventDrop is an Austrian product. You can hide individual photos, and you can protect the album with a PIN. For automatic image screening, every photo is sent to the Google Gemini API in the USA, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The photo is buffered and sent automatically once there is a signal again, usually when the page is opened next. Nothing is lost in the meantime.

No. $49 once, for this one event.

Full details on storage locations, sub-processors and transfer bases are in the privacy policy.

Try it before you pay

Create a free album and send the QR code to two or three people. If it feels right, switch up to the full album. If it does not, it cost you nothing.
