Saving your photos for good

The photos of a party live at EventDrop for a limited time. A copy that belongs to you lives wherever you put it — on your device or in your cloud storage. It stays there after the party has expired here and the gallery is long gone. That is what saving is for.

You can only save while the party is running. Once the expiry date passes, EventDrop hands out nothing, not even to you as the host. So save in good time, or extend the party in its settings.

To your device

In the gallery, saving sits behind the „Save" button. The route to your device needs no second account: on iPhone the photos land in your Photos app via the share sheet, on Android in your Download folder. Your device remembers what is already saved and only offers the new ones next time.

This route belongs to the paid plans. On the Demo plan it is locked — you can still save single photos straight from the gallery there at any time.

To your cloud storage

If the same menu also offers your cloud storage, it takes three steps. This route is free on every plan, Demo included.

1. 01Pick the photos you want to save in the gallery, or take all of them.
2. 02Tap „Save" and then your cloud storage.
3. 03Choose the destination folder in your provider's window and confirm.

You are not connecting EventDrop to your cloud account. The handover happens in your own window at your provider: there is nothing to set up, no password you hand to us, and nothing to disconnect afterwards. You choose the destination folder there, and afterwards only you know which one it was.

With a lot of photos your provider will ask more than once, because it takes them in portions. Pick very many at once and we will tell you, so you can split it into two rounds.

What holds afterwards

• –„Done" means: handed over to your provider. Whether every single file arrived is something only your storage can tell you. Take a quick look in the destination folder afterwards.
• –New photos do not follow by themselves. Anything uploaded after you saved needs a second round.
• –A second round usually puts photos that are already there next to the old ones instead of replacing them: providers rename anything whose name already exists.
• –The files count against your cloud storage, not against the storage of your party.
• –Hidden photos, and photos whose report is still being reviewed, do not travel. Anything under review stays here.
• –If you stop halfway, no further round starts. Whatever was handed over already stays at your provider.
